One of Our Goals is to produce top quality healthy Foods that are organically grown and taste like they came from the backyard Garden.Currently we are growing in the green house at Halifax Community College with plans to expand in Late July to a farm in Halifax County. We are seeking Customers (private, restaurants and Whole sellers) who are interested in us growing Custom or traditional Crops for them. We will have a variety of crops available for the local farmers markets and our clients year-round.Currently we have Tomatoes, Swish Chard, Green Beans, Peppers and Cucumbers in our Growing Spaces.We are excited to partner with our community by engaging our Employees through School Educational Field Trips, Community Gardening Education/ Faith-based Organizations Gardening Clubs, Students, Greenhouse Hub, Future “Sustainable” Farmers, the Agriculture Entrepreneurship Program at HCC. We are passionate about connecting the next generation of Farmers in the FFA, 4H and local High Schools to local opportunities in growing local healthy foods for our community. Research has shown that we live in a Food Dessert with little or no accessibility to good quality food and our community’s ability to sustain its people is dwindling.We hope to be on the cutting edge and begin to turn this around. Reaching out and partnering with the micro farmers in our area who need access to infrastructure we will be building relationships that help us ALL to grow into forces of change in the 21st century. Giving back to communities thru local food banks and educational experiences will be one of our greatest accomplishments and internal measurements of success for our business.Aquaponic / Hydroponic We plan to use Aquaponic and Hydroponic gardening techniques in our Green Houses and High Tunnels. Aquaponic gardening is free from weeds, watering, and fertilizing concerns, and because it is done at a waist-high level, there is no back strain. Aquaponic gardening is necessarily considered organic. Natural fish waste provides all the food the plants need.What is NOT used in our aquaponics gardening operation? Harmful pesticides, hormones, antibiotics, and other fish additives could damage the plants, so they are never used. And the result is every bit as flavorful as traditional soil based organic produce, with the added benefit of fresh fish for a safe, healthy source of protein. Our Tradition Gardening Techniques are as Organic as possible.Our main Goal is to marry technology and traditional farming techniques to create nutrient rich products that are healthy and taste good. Inspiring the next generation to eat and live well in our community.
