Cold pressed oils are unrefined and extracted without the use of hexane and harsh chemicals. Unrefined cooking oils are obtained through pressing and grinding fruit or seeds with the use of heavy granite millstones or modern stainless steel presses. Cold pressed oils retain all of their flavor, aroma, and nutritional value of the seed from which they were pressed. Although there is some heat in the process through friction, the heat must not exceed 120° F for the oil to be considered cold pressed. All of our high oleic oils are pressed from high oleic seeds that are conventionally bred. High oleic oil is any oil that is high in monounsaturated acid. High oleic oil is very stable and has a long shelf life. Baking, sautéing and frying are all ideal uses for high oleic oil's.
